Ground Rents – Property Management

Back to Property and Ground Rent

Domestic ground rent is rent that is charged on the land upon which a house is built.

The rent exists because when the house was originally built and purchased, a lease of the land was granted to the house purchaser.

This means that although the house owner may own the building they may only own a lease in the land upon which it is built.

Click on the links below for more information relating to purchasing the domestic ground rent including a list of those streets where domestic ground rent may exist that are managed by the Property Management Section of Dublin City Council.
