Ground Rents – Property Management
Domestic ground rent is rent that is charged on the land upon which a house is built.
The rent exists because when the house was originally built and purchased, a lease of the land was granted to the house purchaser.
This means that although the house owner may own the building they may only own a lease in the land upon which it is built.
