Rate My Signals
Decommissioning of Rate My Signals System
We would like to inform you that the Rate My Signals System has been decommissioned.
We appreciate all the feedback and participation from the community over the duration of the project.
Thank you for your understanding.
Please note that any major faults of a traffic signal will need to be reported by contacting the traffic control centre. Report a faulty traffic signal
As part of the EU BE-GOOD project, Dublin City Council have developed a Rate My Signals website. Road users can use it to provide feedback on their experience of the traffic signals they come in contact with as part of their daily commute and travel through the city.
We will use the analytics generated from this feedback to improve traffic flow through the City’s traffic signals. This is done by more efficiently calibrating traffic signals to support road users and especially those at-risk like pedestrians, cyclists, etc. It is also done by introducing initiatives to improve accessibility at junctions for vulnerable road users such as children, older people, people with disabilities, or those with additional accessibility requirements.
The Rate My Signals Web Map tool does not process or store any personal data about an individual or their devices. The web map tool only saves the end user’s rating of the traffic signal, which includes the fields listed below.
Feedback Data:
- Signal ID
- Signal Description, Region, and Location
- Feedback Date & Time
- Journey Date (Optional)
- Road User Type
- Feedback Category
- Rating
- Comments (Optional)
All of the above data fields are stored for the purpose of building an intelligent picture on the user experience and performance of traffic and pedestrian signals owned and operated by DCC based on ratings crowdsourced by the end users.
These fields, and only these fields, are processed and stored by the system which will form the basis of the back-office data analytics dashboard.
There is no requirement for the end user to register or create an account. Therefore the ratings that are submitted are anonymous.
There is no sensitive data, such as device location, device IP address or device mac address processed or stored by the system.
