Street Light Maintenance
To reduce the number of problems that arise, regular maintenance is carried out, including night inspections checks to ensure that all of Dublin's 47,000 street lights continue to operate normally. Street lights are inspected every eight weeks or so and any defective or faulty lights are then repaired.
Non-public lighting equipment mounted on public lighting poles
Any non-public lighting equipment, such as flags, banners, flower baskets, private posters or signs, etc. are not allowed on any public lighting poles without the written permission of Dublin City Council's Public Lighting Services.
Public lighting design and installation
All new public lighting installations must be designed and installed in accordance with the latest version of the Dublin City Council's 'General Specification for Public Lighting Design and Installation in the Dublin City Area' and the proposed lighting design must be submitted to this division for approval before commencement of works on site.
