Battery Recycling

By recycling and preventing batteries from going to landfill, you will help protect the environment and human health from potential hazardous chemicals.

All retail outlets that sell batteries are now obliged to take back old batteries of similar type.

10,000 retail outlets including convenience stores, supermarkets, jewellers, hardware stores and garages participate in the scheme.

The service is free and you are not obliged to purchase new batteries at participating outlets.

Dublin City Council's Civic Amenity Sites and Community Bring Centres also accept old batteries.

For more information about the scheme you can contact WEEE Ireland on 01 299 9320 or [email protected]
