Rathmines Library will be closed to the public from Monday 2 December to Friday 6 December inclusive to facilitate the renovation of the Junior Library. It will reopen to the public on Saturday 7 December.
Symposium: John Henry Foley, in Ireland, Britain and Beyond
Dublin City Council and the Royal Dublin Society are convening a joint symposium to mark the 150th anniversary of the death of John Henry Foley (1818-74), one of the foremost sculptors of the Victorian period in Ireland and Britain and known for such works as the O’Connell Monument.
This project encourages Transition Year students to read The Gone Book by Helena Close. There were two library visits schedules, the first, to showcase library resources for teens and teachers alike, including the benefits of membership.
Book clubs are a great way to establish a sense of community with other readers. You can spend hours chatting with people who love the same authors as you, or debating about the merits of a particular character/plot.
Science Week 2024 takes place from November 10-17, and Dublin City Libraries are delighted to be participating with a programme which interprets this year’s theme of ‘regeneration’ in a multitude of ways.
