The Active Travel Programme Office has created a variety of publications to spread the word about this section of the scheme and help the public understand the changes it entails.

Reports and Presentations to Councillors

During the implementation of this scheme, the Active Travel Programme Office prepared updates for the Central Area Committee, which is made up of elected representatives from the local area.

Tree Status Report

There are 176 existing trees along Section 3 of the Royal Canal Greenway route. Of these trees, 45 are recommended for immediate removal or cutting down. The document below includes drawings with further details. The legend on the right hand side of each drawing has three different symbols, each representing the status of the existing trees.

As part of the Royal Canal Greenway Section 3, Dublin City Council submitted an Amending Part 8 application to approved Part 8 (Ref. 2870/15), under Part 8 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001, as amended, to undertake development in this area.

The public consultation for this section closed on 23 August 2023. The Amending Part 8 planning application (Application no. 4110/23) was approved at a full council meeting on 6 November 2023.
