Regeneration of Dorset Street Flats, Dublin 1

This regeneration project is currently onsite.

The Dorset Street development is located on Dorset Street Upper, St. Mary’s Place and Upper Dominick Street, Dublin 1. Construction works commenced in June 2024 and the project is scheduled for completion in December 2026, delivering 163 new homes. The new social housing homes are a mix of 66-one bedroom, 78-two bedroom and 19 three-bedroom homes.

In addition to the new homes, the development will provide a multi-use community space, a community boxing club and two commercial units along the Dorset Street frontage. The historic Dorset Street Fire Station will remain and is celebrated as a focal point within the complex.

Dorset Street is a regeneration project being delivered by Dublin City Council. An Integrated Design Team led by Scott Tallon Walker and Levitt Bernstein Architects was appointed to design the redevelopment of Dorset Street and St. Mary’s Place flats, with Part 8 planning approval achieved in January 2022. Following a procurement process, Duggan Brothers Ltd was appointed to construct the new development. This project is funded by the Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage.
