Section 48 Development Contributions
Development Contributions are fees charged on new property developments. Find information on recent rate changes and how the funds are used.
When a developer builds new property, for example houses, apartments, offices or warehouses, the council charges a fee per square metre. The money is used to fund public infrastructure like roads, water services, parks, schools and community facilities.
This scheme is called Section 48 Development Contributions and runs from 2026-2029. These new rates apply to all relevant planning applications received on or after 1st July 2026.
