How are my books selected?
Our experienced library staff will make a selection for you based on the information you give us about your reading preferences.
How many titles can I borrow?
We’ll select up to eight titles and issue them to your library card.
What if I’ve already read them or don’t like what you’ve chosen for me?
We hope you will find something to enjoy in the titles we select for you. You can also ring us again to order more books and we’ll try to find other titles to suit you.
What if I don’t like fiction but would still like something to read?
No problem, let us know what you like and we’ll see what we can find for you. For example, you may like true crime stories, or you might prefer books about history. Just let us know, and we’ll try to find something as close as to your area of interest as we can.
I find it easier to listen to books than read them. Do you have something to suit me?
Absolutely. When you call us, we will ask you general questions about your reading habits and guide you.
I don’t live in Dublin City. Can I still borrow books?
When you ring, we’ll check where you live and refer you to your nearest library service.
I’m not a library member. Can I still have books delivered?
Don’t worry if you’re not already a library member. Just give us a call and we’ll sign you up.
How long can I keep my books?
All items are on long loan to you for three months. And there are no fines anymore even if they are returned late to us. We can also renew your books for you if you want to hold on to them for longer.
How do I return my books?
The Dublin City Libraries driver can collect the books you’ve read when they’re making a new delivery. If you want to return books but don’t want to borrow anymore, that’s fine too. Just contact us at the number or email above and we’ll sort it out.
Will you let me know when my books will be delivered?
Yes, we will. We’ll call you the day beforehand to let you know to expect a delivery. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to give you an exact time.
What if I still miss my delivery?
Don’t worry. We'll put your books back with the other bags for delivery on another day and contact you again.
Who will deliver my books?
A driver from Dublin City Libraries will deliver your books.
How often can I order books?
As often as you want!
Anything else?
If you have any questions at all, please give us a call and we will do our best to help you. And please do let us know how you get on with our home delivery service. We appreciate any feedback you have for us. We look forward to hearing from you.
