All early learning and care settings in the country are to receive a book on the theme of friendship and a booklet from Barnardos called ‘Supporting Friendships in Early Learning and Care’.
Walkinstown Library's Christmas Story/Poetry competition proved very popular with our younger folk. Well done to all the children who took part. 4,500 Early Learning and Care settings, including registered childminders, to receive free book bags under the First 5 Little Library Initiative. The project aims to support the development of little libraries in early learning and care settings and encourage a love of books and reading among our youngest children.
Storytime with the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Hazel Chu
As a special treat, the Lord Mayor will read one of Alex’s favourite books for everyone. It’s called, A Dublin Fairytale, written and beautifully illustrated by Nicola Colton and published by The O’Brien Press. Watch out for famous Dublin landmarks and some dodgy Dublin characters in this re-telling of a familiar fairy tale.

There are a lot of books to enjoy from our TumbleBooks collection. Today, we have chosen ‘Chicken, Pig, Cow’, written and illustrated by Ruth Ohi. Three toys, chicken, pig and cow, love the barn that was made for them out of little sticks. They have nothing to worry about…except for the dog!
