Public Consultation Report
A non-statutory public consultation took place for this scheme during July and August 2023. Over 452 information leaflets were distributed in the area, primarily to residents with access directly onto the scheme. All the drawings were available to view in hard copy format at Raheny Library during the consultation period.
In total, 802 responses were received over the five week period. 710 were submitted via the consultation hub and 92 via email. A Public Consultation Event was also held on 25 July. Over 80 people attended and expressed a range of sentiments, concerns and suggestions.
The design team took all this feedback from the public into account and, where appropriate, have the scheme's preliminary designs. The main suggestions and concerns can largely be grouped into distinct categories and include the following:
- Right Turn Pockets Approaching the Howth Road.
- Increasing the Length/Scope of the Scheme.
- Parking at St. Anne's Park.
- Additional Cycle Facility Proposals.
- Congestion.
The public consultation report below summarises the full consultation process and outlines the responses from the Dublin City Council Active Travel Programme Office to the key suggestions and concerns raised during the process.
