Fire Safety Week Poster

Dublin Fire Brigade is delighted to announce that we are having a Primary School Fire safety Poster Competition in support of National Fire Safety Week, which is running from Monday the 17th of October to Sunday the 23rd of October.

This year’s the main theme is ‘Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives – Have you a plan if yours goes off!’.

National Fire Safety Week is a joint venture between Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS), the National Directorate for Fire and Emergency Management (NDFEM) and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, and is being launched virtually/online on Monday the 17th of October 2022 by Minister Daragh O’Brien and NIFRS.

Dublin Fire Brigade are continually seeking novel and imaginative ways to communicate our fire safety message to the public and we hope that you can support our campaign to highlight fire safety and the use of smoke alarms in the home. This year our campaign will include our #red4 ready, we hope that you will help Dublin Fire Brigade promote fire safety awareness with your children.

Please see attached Posters for details of our competition. We look forward to seeing the entries

We respectfully ask that you would encourage your teachers to include fire safety in their classroom at some stage during Fire Safety Week and encourage the children to learn about fire safety, so they can bring this important message home. We look forward to seeing their fire safety inspired art.

How can your school participate in Fire Safety Week? Why not carry out a fire safety check on your school? And whilst staying within HSE guidelines, we would encourage you to test and practice your school fire drill, check your fire alarm is working, your emergency exit signs are ok, your fire extinguishers are serviced and materials are not stored along escape routes, corridors or in the stairs! Please find guidance material attached.

Further information can be found at https://firesafetyweek.ie/

Keep an eye out for Dublin Fire Brigade’s #Red4ready campaign.

Promoting fire safety among children is vitally important for their future, their families and the local community. Please get in touch with Dublin Fire Brigade if you have any suggestions for our future campaigns.
