Cycle to Work
Find out how we are supporting more staff to cycle to work during Bike Week
Lunchtime Cycles for Staff
DCC staff are invited to join our staff lunchtime cycles during Bike Week. They take place on Tuesday 14th and Thursday 16th September.
Cycle Training
To encourage more staff to cycle to work, DCC is providing free cycle training to staff. The training involves in-person and online sessions to help increase participant's confidence in cycling in an urban environment.
DCC Bike Buddy Programme
DCC is launching its pilot Bike Buddy programme for staff this Bike Week. The scheme pairs up new cyclists with experienced cyclists, and aims to support staff who would like to cycle more to build up their confidence by cycling with a buddy. This helps the new cyclist to feel safe on their first few journeys until they’re confident enough to cycle the route on their own.
Staff Cycle Challenge
DCC is taking part in the Smarter Travel Workplace cycle challenge during Bike Week. During the ‘7 days of cycling’ staff cycle challenge, staff teams compete to clock up as many cycle trips as possible during the week. This challenge is open to partners on the Smarter Travel Workplace Programme. Find out if your workplace is taking part at and register your team at https://www.nationaltransport.ie/smarter-travel-workplaces/cycle-challenge-ie/smarter-travel-cycling/

We’ll also be giving out free pedal-powered smoothies to say thank you to Dublin’s cyclists!
