Report on Bus Stop Design and Location

The Clontarf to City Centre Scheme will provide one-way segregated cycle facilities on each side of the road along a 2.7km route. Where the segregated cycle track runs alongside bus stop waiting areas, the concept of island bus stops is featured in the design with some improvements made to address accessibility concerns.

The documents below explain the design of the bus stops along the route in more detail. After consultation took place in 2021, amendments to the design were made.

Report on Trees

The Clontarf to City Centre Scheme includes significant urban realm improvement works. All pavements along the route will be reconstructed with eight new community plazas created. New tree planting and soft landscaping will also contribute to improved greening throughout the area. 114 new trees will be planted along the route and planted bio-retention areas will be installed to improve surface-water management.

During the consultation process, concerns for the protection and retention of the mature trees along the route were raised. These were taken on board and the scheme was redesigned to retain as many trees as possible.

The document below provides detailed information on the trees to be retained, removed and planted.
