Conservation & Interpretation
Many of the parks and open spaces managed by Dublin City Council are sites of great historical significance and interest. This would include Georgian squares like Merrion Square, graveyards like St. Canice’s in Finglas and park lodges and structures like the Red Stables in St. Anne’s.
Each year the Parks Department undertakes a programme of conservation and repair of these sites and features. We endeavour to expand the interpretation of our rich heritage. As part of our emerging interpretation strategy, we recently commissioned these audioguides, through the CMF 2021 and CMF 2022 grant funding
Abarta Heritage produced the guides on behalf of Parks, Biodiversity and Landscape Services; Dublin City Council. The project was funded by the Community Monuments Fund (CMF 2021), an initiative of the National Monuments Service of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, in partnership with Dublin City Council.
