Inchicore Library at Richmond Barracks will be temporarily closed starting Thursday 22 May to facilitate necessary works for an improved service; we appreciate your patience during this time and look forward to sharing more details soon. The library is expected to reopen on Tuesday 3 June.

Age friendly Dublin Libraries

Some of the improvements include a dedicated age friendly section, proper visible signage throughout the library, designated easy to rise seating areas, and increased font size on book receipts. Other age friendly initiatives include a collaboration with Age Action to provide computer classes, and several daytime groups such as art, crochet, patchwork, knitting, and a morning book club.

The work pod has been installed to provide a more private collaborative space for patrons to use for workforce related work e.g. online interviews, training, group project work or (non-fee) tutoring. The unit is equipped with power and can seat up to four people. This policy outlines the rules and guidelines for use of the facility.

Dublin and the Dublin City Libraries and Archives

In Autumn 2022 Georgina Gianni from Athens worked with us in Dublin City Library and Archive on an Erasmus Plus placement from her college, University of West Attica in Greece. Georgina brought her enthusiasm and energy along with her knowledge of libraries and archives to DCLA and we really enjoyed having her as part of the team and we miss her cheerful presence!
