Possible future works

The owner is currently sourcing a method of draughtproofing the letterbox as the location of the living room and main fireplace at first floor level appear to be contributing to a thermal stack effect through the entire house.

A solar thermal water heating system in the central roof valley was granted planning permission but was subsequently omitted due to concerns that the front roof slope would over shade the panel during low winter sun elevations and reduce the panel’s efficiency. The solar panel may be revisited at some point in the future as it is seen as something which could contribute to a further reduction of the carbon footprint of the house.

Maintenance of window draught seals and ensuring that attic insulation does not become compressed or settled were seen as priorities by the owner.
