The Animal Welfare Oversight Committee
The Animal Welfare Oversight Committee oversees the work of Dublin City Council's Animal Welfare Unit.
The Animal Welfare Oversight Committee is made up of various stakeholders and interested parties, including staff, elected members of Dublin City Council, members of An Garda Síochána, representatives from voluntary animal welfare groups and inspectors from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
Since 2021, the committee has overseen our work and advises on issues related to the services we provide. It also plays a role in the creation of policies and the development of partnerships with external organisations.
The Animal Welfare Oversight Committee meets regularly. You can find the minutes of recent meetings below. They include a list of the committee's current members and a record of decisions made at meetings.
