This Week's Planning Applications and Decisions
Dublin City Council publishes a weekly list of new applications and decisions on planning permission and planning exemptions.
The Weekly List
The list is uploaded each week for each electoral area, with the most recent listed first. You can view or download the weekly list documents below. The list includes all planning applications submitted and planning decisions made in the previous week.
Planning Permission Applications and Decisions
Each list is split into the following categories:
-
Commercial – Planning applications relating to commercial, industrial, retail, office, hospitality, and other business developments.
-
Domestic – Planning applications for homes and residential properties, including extensions, renovations, new dwellings, and alterations.
-
Decisions – Planning applications for which the planning authority has issued a decision, such as granted, refused, or withdrawn.
-
Appeals Notified – Planning decisions that have been appealed and formally notified to the relevant parties. The appeal is currently under consideration.
-
Appeals Decided – Planning appeals that have been determined by the appeals authority, with a final decision issued.
Section 5 Applications and Decisions
The list also includes recent applications and approvals for Section 5 declarations. A ‘Section 5’ Declaration is a formal written ruling that acts as official confirmation on whether a specific proposed project needs planning permission.
Section 96 Social Housing Exemption Applications and Decisions
Private developers are normally required to use 20% of their land for social and affordable housing. They can apply for an exemption in certain circumstances. If their exemption is approved they receive a Section 96 Social Housing Exemption Certificate. Find more information under Section 96 Social Housing Exemption Certificates.
Other Licenses Types
Outdoor Event Licences are not included in this weekly list. The Council publishes a list of current applications and decisions on the dedicated Outdoor Event License page.
Planning Information Sessions
Qualified staff members are available by appointment to explain the content of current planning applications. The service is being provided to assist members of the public and residents groups in understanding planning applications currently part of the planning process. The service is not intended to provide general planning advice or to assist in the drafting of submissions in relation to planning objections, observations and appeals.
